The Christian Institute for Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) Dimapur, started limited OPD services on November 24, 2007. It was preceeded by a service in the chapel with Dr. Sedevi Angami giving a short introduction outlining the history of the CIHSR, and thanking those who made it possible for it to reach this stage. He specially expressed his thankfulness to Dr. P.K. John, Mr. Vardharajan, and the Sykes' for their selfless contribution and for taking up the great challenge of reviving the hospital spread out over 132 acres of land, which had been partly constructed and left to the elements for a total of about 22 years. He expressed hope that the CIHSR would be a blessing not just to the people of Nagaland but also to the whole of the North East and that people would get affordable quality health care without having to travel vast distances to find good health services.

Among the guests present were Rev. Dr. Dozo of the Missiology Research Centre, Rev. Bizo (Ex. Secretary Nagaland Baptist Church Council) and local village council members of Dipuphar village that CIHSR is located in. The message was given by Rev. Dr. Dozo. The service closed with prayer and benediction by Rev. Bizo which was followed by breakfast. 27th being a Saturday, CIHSR staff worked for half a day and saw four patients.
