EHA is committed to the transformation of communities with programs that invest in the health and well being of everyone, irrespective of caste, creed or race. It aims to focus on the development and empowerment of women and the health and nurture of the under fives.

A high proportion of India's population continues to suffer and die from preventable infections, pregnancy and childbirth related complications and under nutrition. At the same time new health threats are stretching the capacity of the health system to respond. An estimated 4 million Indians are living with HIV and the virus has spread beyond highly susceptible groups to the general population in some states, threatening to erase much of the social, economic and health gains since Independence.

EHA's combination of essential clinical services and primary health care and development programs tackles the health and development needs of the people in poverty stricken rural areas.
