EHA, a not for profit association of hospitals, committed towards the health care and upliftment of the poor, has been doing relentless service for the last 47 years in rural India. With a network of 20 hospitals located in the most challenging parts of our country, EHA with its strong team of 200 + experienced doctors and more than 2500 para medical staff addresses about 8 lakh poor in the areas of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, General and Family medicine, Pediatrics, General and Pediatric surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, Dentistry and diagnostic services including – clinical laboratories, radiology, Ultrasonography and gastroscopy.
EHA initiated Palliative care services in April 2010. The services care for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA), neurological deficits, organ failure, cancer and complications of chronic illnesses.
With the dynamic changes and demands in the field of medicine, the poor man’s care and treatment is becoming unreachable day by day. EHA is at a crossroad of delivering cost effective health care and yet cope with the technology, medicines and infrastructural growth so required in hospitals.
The journey has been rewarding though, with EHA being one of the largest not for profit Indian rural health care institution and it continues to be of service to the marginalised and the economically weaker sections of our Society.
While the demand for good health care at subsidised cost is increasing, the resources to manage it is being depleted. EHA has been trying hard to add value to its cause by offering its staff considerate salaries, basic housing and welfare.
With the years put in and the challenges being faced to offer holistic health care EHA now wishes to engage friends, institutions, corporates in its journey of ‘ service to the poor ’ and seek their support towards the needs of rural health care.
