Landour Community Hospital is a 35-bedded hospital located in Mussoorie in the Himalayan foothills and serving the hill people of Mussoorie and nearby villages since 1931. The hill people in the villages are very poor, living at a subsistence level, with high infant and maternal mortality rates compounded by malnutrition. Started in rented quarters with a capacity for 12-inpatients, the cornerstone of the present hospital was laid on 1938. The hospital witnessed many changes over the years and became affiliated to EHA in 1981.

Key Accomplishments
The poor patient Coolie clinic continued last year. Many Nepali coolies (porters) came to the hospital for treatment, responding to the support and care provided by the hospital. Package deals for surgeries were offered to the poor people. Patients were also charged based on their paying capacity. |
